Website Must-Haves

The web is constantly changing, and your website needs to keep up with these changes. There have been many changes in programming technology and web design. If you’ve recently designed your website, or are looking to do a redesign, your website needs these four things:

1. Content Management Systems

Content management systems, also known as CMS, help you organize your website content. CMS also makes it easier to post new and updated content. Content is searchable, which means it is easier to find.  With a content management system, you don’t need to have programming knowledge to update your website.

2. Analytics

Do you know how your website is performing? How many visitors do you have? How long are people staying on the site? There is an abundance of information that website analytics provide. At Turbine we use Google Analytics. With analytics you can see what is popular on your website and a get a better understanding of your audience.

3. Responsive Design

responsivedesignResponsive design means having a website with optimal viewing experience. This means that the website is easy to navigate, read, scroll through, and so forth. A site with responsive design means that it can be effectively displayed on desktops, laptops, tablets, and phones. Mobile is huge, and it’s time your website be mobile friendly.

4. Social Media

If you’re using social media, your website should have something that links back to those pages. Your communication strategy should embrace multiple platforms. Let your audience know that you’re on social media.

These four things should be a part of your website. If they currently aren’t, it may be time for a redesign.
